Sorry, it took a few days but I have bundled up an installation tutorial which ought to work in any situation:
http://ls.greywool.com/install/
I am not able to test 'em in anything but Win7 atm, but as far as I know it should work the same for Vista, 8 and 8.1 as well. If you find something not to work, please let me know.
I have it up and running on windows 8.1 x64
but i use litestep x32 because its much more stable then the x64 version.
if you need files you can download my collection
http://goo.gl/Eif1Zc
it contains everything ever released except all themes of course it is impossible to collect those... xD
Thank you for the responce sorry it took me long to answer back had some hardware problems but thats sorted now

Is this collection still available? I just tried downloading but got a 404/File not found error.

After following the above link I find myself unsure whether or not to go with the 64-bit version or not. I'm running Win8.1x64, 16g RAM, but not being terribly familiar with the LiteStep platform, I'm not really sure how much (if anything) I would 'lose' if I chose the apparently more-stable and better-supported 32 bit version. Can you shed any light on this?
If this is your first ever install of LiteStep, you're in for a rough ride >.<
64-bit shell is STRONGLY suggested for 64-bit OS (else there's alot of trickery involved from the system's side to make it believe it is running on a 32-bit system).
However, there's no readily available 64-bit installers, and the selection of 64-bit modules is rather scarce.
